The “K” Family!

Jeff, Ellie and I headed over to our friend’s house to hang out and take some family photos. We had a great time and Ellie loved all of the new toys. It’s amazing how someone else’s toys can be more exciting than your own :) I guess that’s true for most things right?

Anyway, they have the coolest red couches.. I love red. It’s my favorite color, so anytime I see it I want to take pictures of it. I did exactly that:

The rest were outside. Even though it was hot and soooo humid.. we managed to get some great shots. Even the dog was cooperative :)




Tomorrow I’m shooting a wedding up in Cave Creek and then Sunday we are off for our vacation!! I am soooooo excited to get out of this heat! If I have time, I hope to get some photos posted of the wedding before I go, so look for those :)

Welcom Jace!

Little Jace was born to Sherri and Jeff on July 2. He is so sweet! He definitely gave me baby fever. He really fought falling asleep for a long time, but in the end we managed to get a few sleeping shots. Here are a few favorites from the day:

I also have took some family photos on Saturday for my friends Doug and Fonda.. I’ll try to get those posted tomorrow. We had a pretty uneventful weekend around here. It’s basically too hot to do much. Next week we are off to our trip to California and I can’t wait! I love Disneyland, and now that Ellie’s a little older, I think she’ll appreciate it more. We are also going to go to Legoland. I’ve heard it’s great for young children, so hopefully that’s true.

Happy 4th and musical memories!

Happy 4th of July everyone! We are having a very quiet day. I woke up at 5 am to Ellie crying and saying, “mommy I sick” the next thing.. she threw up. Yep.. happy 4th! Actually I think it may have been something she ate, because she’s been just fine since then!

I grew up in Phoenix, and even though I moved around with my mom and stepdad, I still spent every summer here in AZ. I remember going to see fireworks every summer and eating cake and icecream. Seems like every year we celebrated my birthday on the 4th.. since it was only 2 days later. I also have vivid memories of singing my heart out to ABBA… so in honor of that memory…..

My little fish Ellie

Ellie is a complete fish. I mentioned before that she loves to swim and is taking swimming lessons and it’s paying off. Yesterday we went over to some friends of ours to go swimming and I swear we were in the pool for over 2 hours. My hands were so wrinkly and I completely sunburned my back.. oh well, it was still a great time. Here are some pictures of her in the pool:

I just love my camera.. I know I’ve said that a million times, but check out the cool drops of water it captured while swimming… so cool :)

On another note, I started with a personal trainer… I had day 2 today and it is kicking my butt BIG time. I swear I’m so out of shape… but that’s what it’s for right??? I’ll keep you all posted of my progress.. assuming there is some LOL!

MIA

Where the heck have I been??? Really I have no excuse. I blink and another day has gone by….*sigh* Tonight I’m excited to watch SNL.. I love George Carlin and I’m so sad he died. He was hilarious. Ellie started swimming lessons and is swimming like a fish. She loves the water and now we are on the summer quest of finding our friend’s with pools :) At our old house we had one, but Ellie was so young that we barely used it.. now she can’t get enough and I’m actually wishing we had one. Maybe next summer. I wanted to share a large family shoot I did last weekend. Talk about fast. It was so hot out so we took the large shot and then did the smaller families one at a time. Despite the heat, everyone was great to work with and managed a few smiles!! Here is a group shot and then I made a few story boards.. which of course are available to anyone :)

We don’t have too much planned for the holiday weekend. Our house is still being remodeled and the lights people need to finish up next Friday (who works holidays???) so we are pretty much stuck!

On a bright note.. my mother will be officially done with her treatment this Thursday! Radiation hasn’t been to kind to her, so thank goodness she only has 4 more days left. She did awesome through her chemo and radiation and now the end is in site! We plan on celebrating Thursday night! Yeah!!!! I’m sure I’ll take some photos! Ok I’m off to veg out and watch some TV! Have a great weekend!!

Baby Casen

Family Photo Shoot

So my friend Sara’s sister came into town and brought along her boyfriend a their adorable little girl Reese. Reese is about 7 months old and is the cutest little thing! She didn’t want to give out too many smiles today, but that’s ok.. she was perfect! We just walked down to the neighborhood park and got a few shots. Here are a few… Seriously, could this little family be any cuter????

Tonight we went out for Mexican food with some friends.. I’m stuffed. I swear Ellie almost ate an entire cheese crisp by herself! We are still working on the potty training… I’m about to pull my hair out! If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

My great friend Holly started a new photography site for dogs! Check it out, it is sooooo cool! It’s called The Little Dog Smiled!  Cute!  She does any amazing job of showing expressions in dogs.

Tomorrow morning I get to take newborn photos.. stay tuned for those!

Maternity Shoot

Today I had the best time shooting Sherri, Jeff and his little boy Dylan. Sherri is pregnant and is due in July :) They made my job so easy because they were the perfect models. Even Dylan gave me a few smiles. Here are a few from the day:

Our memorial day weekend was great! It was so nice to just relax and not feel rushed to do anything. The best part is that I only have to work 2 days this week and then I’m off to Vegas for 3 nights!!! I love vegas! Jeff and I will be celebrating our 4th anniversary. It’s going to be so fun :)
